What I’d love for dear old Santa to drop down my chimney this Sunday:
1. Harry Potter Page to Screen by Bob McCabe – an obvious gift for the Potter lover and also the only book on this list I might actually end up getting from Santa Hubs.
2. The original U.K. hardcover editions of all 7 HP books – For my permanent home library and because my paperback copies are nearing the end of their life.
3. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald – Read in high school but need to reread for upcoming movie release. Also want in hardcover to add to the shelves.
4. The Hobbit by Tolkien – Same as #3. So many book-to-screen adaptations releasing this year!
5. The entire Roald Dahl collection – Want to reread all his novels in the coming year.
6. The Professor by Charlotte Bronte – The last Charlotte Bronte novel I haven’t read. I love when I read all of one particular author’s novels. Makes me feel well read.
7. In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin by Erik Larson – I loved Larson’s Devil in the White City and can’t wait to read this!
8. Bossypants by Tina Fey – Want this on audiobook! Love Tina Fey so very much.
9. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy – Have never really read any Russian literature and need to remedy this immediately. Always been far too intimidated.
10. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov – Want to know what all the fuss is about!
You have quite a range of books there. I didn’t know they were working on a movie for The Great Gatsby. That’s definitely interesting. As for The Hobbit, I really need to get that read now. I know my dad (who is a non-reader that loves the Lord of the Rings movies) will want to see it but my motto (for me) is very firmly “Books first.” Anyway, I hope that you find some wonderful stuff under the tree.
Have a great day! Merry Christmas!
My reading tends to be a bit all over the place! The new Gatsby movie stills love amazing even though I’m not the biggest Leo fan. Merry Christmas to you as well!
Roald Dahl is amazing. I too would love to own all his books in matching gorgeous covers!
Happy Holidays! I hope that more than one of these books makes an appearance on Sunday! (so long as you celebrate Christmas… otherwise that might be a little strange…) 😉
Roald Dahl is definitely a genius and so readable for all ages! Happy Holidays to you as well!
I read Anna Karenina for the first time this year and enjoyed it way more than I expected. Hope you like it too!
Really looking forward to Anna Karenina. I attempted to read it at age 13 and that only ended in disaster. Hopefully an additional 15 years will help the reading experience!
I want the Harry Potter Page to Screen book too, it looks amazing!
It makes me a bit giddy just thinking about it!
number 3 and 4, ???????. read in school, and did not like those books. Hobbit was alright. I do hope you receive a book or two from santa. Happy Holidays. http://sidnereviewz.blogspot.com
F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of my fav authors so Gatsby is a perfect gift for me! I’ve found that I enjoy the books I read in high school much more as an adult. Happy Holidays to you as well!
I have been re-collecting Roald Dahl’s for a while now. I had them all as a kid, and I can’t believe I got rid of them. So, now I’m scouring thrift stores to get a full collection again.
Good luck with your Dahl hunting! I have a feeling I’ll be doing the same this year.
